OK, I HAVE reasearched and was wondering how you use a timing light on a coil on ignition set up, do you just runa plug wire from the coil to the #1 plug?

and then athe the dots on the crank pully in 5 degree increments?

Thanks a ton,

ryan

i got my motor from someone i shouldnt have :(, i know that a plug on my harness is wired incorrectly cause my fuel pump isnt getting power and the ignition wires are on the same plug so that may be my spark problem, i also need to ground my ignitor better, but im sure my timing is probobly off.

im gonna have the guy that wired my harness come take a look at it, but any help is appreciated.

check the fuel pump fuse, the ignition wires are supposed to be on the same plug

the ignitor itself doesn't need to be grounded unless their is a ground on the plug.

There is a small black wire in a loop at the back of the valve cover. That is coil 1's signal wire. use that.

yes the makes go in 5deg. increments. -5 0 +5 +10 + 15

why would they make the back of the ignitor metal with a negative (-) symbol on it if it wasnt supposed to be mounted on a metal surface (i.e. grounded)?

btw, i dont think my timing is off since i got an entire clip and it hasnt been messed with. i think my problem is just in the wire harness, but thanks for the input.
