Hey i was wondering if you can use the same wiring harness for either a red top or black top? or what the differences are if there is any. Company i bought the motor from advertised as red top, came thru as a black top block. so Im figuring out motor problems and what not with the company but wondering if i can still use that harness or if the black top uses a specific one... ill probably have more questions coming soon so thanks for any help.

I have the same situation. I have bought RedTop, but in the end I have found that engine is Black Top. I have problem now, because I need genuine MAF for RedTop ECU. If I had Black Top ECu, I could be able to use S14 MAF.

So long as it's an S13 blacktop, there is no difference. You will probably need to repin the O2 sensor plug. Just so you know, I'm currently running a blacktop ECU on my redtop, so it's easily doable. The sensors are identical.

Okay thanks, I'm just in a big mess now cuz everything else that came with that motor has been broken or wrong so we might be ripping it out and returning the motor cuz who knows what's wrong with it. But I'll let u know what happens and thanks for the help again

I have found info that BlackTop ECU uses "FAT" O2 sensor. Does someone have photo of it? How does it differ from Red Top O2 sensor?
