So, recently got a 180sx redtop... and it blows 'cool'/'warm', anyways... I found the highside by the condensor... but can't seem to find the lowside. Normally it is coloured blue, but all my caps are black... hence hard to see/find.Anyone have any ideas as to where I can find it?Thanks

hey man .. that's funny .. i got a 180sx too ..and tried recharging my ac last night ..

low side is on the big pipe on the firewall..

i used the canadian tire redtek12 AC kit ... worked great on my 4runner

but the R12 adaptor crapped out on my i think... when i srew in the adaptor.. the freon in the car leaks out from inside the adaptor... so now i got no freon @ all

Hey... so I looked at that connection... but seems to me the low side should be a female style connection... that connection looks identical to the high side... which doesnt make sense to me. The adaptor should beable to clamp on that connection... unless i am missing something... probably the adaptor piece... LOL, i have a bottle (.5kg) of r12 and 1/4 bottle of sealant... but no adapter piece... stupid friend prob has it somewhere... im borrowing he's kit.

******Update... I checked the relay... it worked... checked the fuses all of them were ok... SO I bought the kit from Crappytire, well I couldnt get it to work and lost TONS of gas...but then I recheck the fuse and wola it was popped, I used a multimeter to check amps drawn and it was 13.98 at max, so... I placed a 20amp fuse in there and I HAVE COLD AIR... I will have to wait and see if it will be cold enough but seems colder then my 240sx, to bad I didnt figure this out b4... i would have had a full system of r12, I guess a trip to the states next weekend is in order.

nice!! man .. the only thing holding my freon in is the plastic blue cap on the adaptor that come with the kit.. i had about 75 psi then tryied to quickly remove the quick disconect hose and plug it with the plastic cap... some shot out .. but i still have some freon in the car ...

gonna check the fuses tomorrow

..so left the adaptor on the car right??!! ..and did it leak when u installed it??
