yay.

RWW is always a useful addition.

It works (though not quite as advertised but in a different way) by increasing the rate of heat echange, from block into coolant, by reducing bubbles at the interface of heat exchange.

It also reduces cavitation at the waterpump.

Are there any other fluids I should pick up, before attacking the track?

So far I have

Redline 10w-40Redline MT-90 tranny fluidRedline Steering FluidRedline Water WetterValvoline Synpower

Anything I'm missing or you would recommend. Maybe a BG coolant flush?

As new as your car is a coolant flush is likely not neccessary.By Valvoline SynPower I surmise you are referring to SynPower DOT3/4 brake fluid right?

Also be sure your coolant mix isnt too thick, I dont know what te,mps are in AZ right now but I recommend in summer a 70% dist waterplus RWW bottle, rest coolant (the pure type not the premixed with water type)

Ryan:

Wow at the temp, its still 55F-65F here in MD.

Keep an eye on your coolant temp gauge. I am real curious if the usual low cost coolign enhancements we just discussed (RWW + thinner mix) will be sufficient in keeping you cool.

A data logger would be even better or an OBDII check afterwards to see if we went into hi temp loop at all during that session (even if gauge is normal).

BUt thats asking a bit much so I wont..

In any case, if you do run into any issues, which I hope you wont ,Driftfactory has Koyos for our cars in stock.

Yea, I'm a fan.

I just spent about 100 dollars on redline fluids and can't wait to get them in the Z

YOu may want to invest in a Power Enterprises oil filter, much lower pressure loss and flow rate than stock...

I'll be running redline after my first oil change in the Z..

but should I wait that long, or just swap it in after 2k?

try the k&n too, k&n is after all a pretty big company

with 15w50 oil in sr and the k&n filter, cold start is about 600 kpa and idle is about 175 kpa after full warm up

Thanks guys. I was wondering about the oil filter. Since I just dropped some nice coin on the best fluids, I don't mind (and I prefer) the best oil filter as well, but I couldn't get any recommendations

everyone says OEM is fine, but what is the best

OEM is about as good as it gets, but the Power Enterprises Mag power 2 filter and the K+N Gold Oil filters provide a bit more flow and filtration that stock.

I've used the K+N personally and really liked the quality on them (as well as the 1" nut for ease of install/removal) and from what Fred has said, it's one of the few filters that exceed OE for flow and filtration.

I've had the PE recommended to me by a lot of people because it is supposed to be evenb etter than the K+N and Oe filters...but the only 'hard' data I ahve seen on it comes from japanese magazines (with poor translation) and the PE propganda..

I think* I was looking into PE oil filter before, is that the one with magnet inside?

if so, is it possible to disassemble K&n or any other filter to install a magnet? you can buy artificial magnet for fairly cheap on ebay

yeah, the PE filters are the ones with the magnet inside...good stuff.I suppose you could dissassemble an oil filter..but I doubt you could reassemble it in a good/effective manner :p(I sure as heck couldn't)-Chet
