Your tach is probably not calibrated right.

I dont know about the S2 but my S1 hits the limiter at 6700rpm. Fully stock ecu with RPM confirmed by Autometer tach and Apexi AVCR.

wow 6700? thats low... i dont know man.

And about you having a a incorrectly calibrated tach. I dont really know it sounds alot like thats your issue but you never know.... hows your gearing and power. if your tach is off you should notice less power than what you should have and your gears will be short.

Nobody really knows. Lots of speculation, no proof.I've had it up to 8400 totally stock but had to reduce it due to oil pressure problems.

Where it's going to make power and when you "should" shift depend on a lot of different things/opinions.

Bottom line though, you're not going to hurt the engine by shifting under 7500rpm. I used to shift my RB25 around 7800 with a stock engine and a big turbo all the time and never hurt it.

Yeah i totally agree with you. I love when people have dynos and it shows them losing power top end and they continue to rev it up to that thinking hey if 7krpm is good 8k must be better. I was just wondering what i should set mine to. I will for now only be pushing 12-14psi out of the stock turbo but will be upgrading to a to4e (.57T .63 A/r) and around 14psi daily with tune up to 18psi.

if your just goin to run the stock turbo the stock rev limiter is suficient... im assuming your running stock mani, and Dp.. and like everyone else with these car unless there externally gated you will lose boost around 4500-5500 RPM.. only drops a couple lbs but still pulles very hard even when losing boost.
