i was just wondering what is a safe rpm for the L16 engine on stock internals with a light cam? I know that it says the peak horspower is made at 5600 with the single carb, but i know that you can take it higher

If you don't care about how long the motor lasts, rev it till it starts to cut out. That is usually when the valves start to float.Float the valves enough and the pistons start hitting them.

Otherwise, there's no need to rev the stock motor beyond the redline specified in the FSM.
