I've used Redline in my transmission and diff. before and I love it. My only question is what do other SR owners think about their motor oil? I can get it for a descent price so I am considering it, but I here mixed opinions about it, so I was just asking.

Redline makes fantastic motor oil. A lot of people consider them to be above your basic synthetics and are usually compared with Amsoil. Redline may even be overkill depending on what you're using it for. They always have a nice additive package, are all fairly stable oils, and have great UOA's as well. Personally, I wouldn't have any worries about running Redline oil.

What kind of oil are you running currently?

Right now I'm still breaking in my motor (redtop), I'm using Mobil Clean 10w30.

Breaking in as in new engine, or breaking in as in you swapped it and hasn't been driven in a while? If it's new, what are the build specs on the block?

Typically you don't want to use redline to break in a motor. They recommend you to use a dino oil for the first 1500 to 2000 miles or 20-30 minutes on a dyno at low rpm. They tell you this to give the new pistons rings sufficient time to seat.

I would stick with the 10w30 for the initial break in assuming this is a newly built motor. Then switch it out for Redline at the recommended mileage.

It's just a swapped in motor, I planned on running just base dino oil untill about 500 or miles and then switching to synthetic.

How long do you go in between oil changes?
