has anyone done it? The manual says to use 80w-90. Wondering if people had good results using redline instead.

Is there a DIY on how to change it?Thanks

Hey, nice name!

Yep - Check out http://www.240sxTech.com, there's a diff fluid change DIY there.

Redline MT-90 is fine for your G diff. Good choice.

Welcome to your new home!!!

I thought that the diff's used GL-5. MT-90 is probably a GL-4 (without looking it up) and GL-5 is what diff's use. They are different and CANNOT BE MIXED!

Despite what other people are doing, I would NOT run MT-90 in the diff if indeed it is a GL-4.

Thanks elwesso for that tip. It definitely says GL-5 for diff in the manual.

Now only if I could find where the drain and fill plugs/bolts are...Do I have to take out that plastic cover?

last G I worked on the diff was easy to get to (03 coupe). I dont remember having to take any plastic covers out. The drain plug is either on the rear of the diff or the bottom-rear, i dont remember which.. The fill is gonna be on the top on one side (usually on the drivers side by one of the axles).

BE SURE THAT YOU TAKE THE FILL PLUG OFF FIRST! Sometimes the fill plug likes to seize in place, i wouldnt think this woul dbe an issue on such a new car but its always good practice. We see it often on Q45s and then you have to take the diff out in order to put new fluid in.

Its almost impossible to get a bottle up there so save yourself some time and get a pump. I used one that they use for marine use, since in boats you cant always pour it in... I would think that autozone will have one.
