red top sr starting problem please help a brotha out!

i just replaced the starter in my red top because it wasnt starting but it didnt fix the problem...it will start every once and a while but mostly it just clicks once when i turn the key.can anybody give me some insight on what else this might be?i am stumped and dont know what to do!thanks

theres a wire that goes on to the stater that you have to plug into a prong or something like that if you have it on there backwards it will just click i had the same problem and thats what i did to fix it try it out and see if it works

also your battery might be bad???

you probably need new ignition key. its old and defected. also check starter relay its a blue relay near battery. has 2 connectors to it. those 2 should fix your problem.
