im curious why people run redtops more then black tops. as well as what the major diffrences are bettween the motors.

depending on the year there is a difference .... people run redtops bc if your going to modify the car the differences in the engines are removed like the vvt and the slightly larger turbo on the black tops ..... the red top has just a bit more mileage on it depending on where you get the motor ..... so depending on what you want to do with the car and your plans for upgrading is what you need to think about when looking for motors but the redtop is the best choice if modifying the motor

There isn't a better choice on which engine to modify. First, you have to specify which blacktop you are talking about. S13 blacktop or S14 blacktop.

The answer to your first question: COST. I guarantee that is the basis of 90 percent of people's decision. The fact is that most 240sx owners are in the 16-21 year old range and can't always afford the 700-800 dollar price difference between the s13 redtop and the s14 blacktops.

hell yea and thats with the price of the sr going down over the past 2 years i bought mine like 2-3 years ago i paid 2100 for my redtop
