I finally painted my calipers here are the original factory color:

And now the new color!!! What do you think???

I used High Performance Dupli-Color ceramic paint, which is also heat resistant!

I would love to do this to my V but I really know nothing about the breaks. Is taking off the calipers hard? isn't there the piston in there that has to be compressed or something to get it off and on? honestly I know nothign about what I am talkinga bout which is why I am asking.

There is a piston, but you can recompress it using a c-clamp. The caliper is actually quite easy to take off. I wish I had pics or a tutorial to link here, but I don't. sorry I couldn't be more help.

Later today, I can post more pictures to show you how to do it.

btw, if you know a place that does alloy wheel repairs, you could have them paint the wheels whatever color you want. Those stock wheels arent that bad just the color looks off...But thats my figurin....

I bought this product that uses a brush instead of spray paint. can't get no overspray this way.

Use a wire brush and steel wool to remove debris from the area that needs to be painted. Then use the brake caliper cleaner included with the kit.

Remove the lower union bold from the cylinder body and pull it upwards like a door on a hindge.

Remove the brake pads and the pad retainer, you now have a bare cylinder body. Clean it more if you see oil etc as the paint won't stick properly. Once it's all dry do not touch and start painting with the brush. second coat shoul be applied within one hour, I did three coats.

Before After

You don't need to push back the piston with calipers unless you put in new pads. After the paint dries put back the pad retainers and pads, and you're done!

I just painted mine while still on the rotor and everything. Came out real well I just raised it a bit as well in order to fully paint the underside of the calipers.

Hey TC, what size are those stock wheels you are rolling on?

I also used the Duplicolor kit and also bought some of the same brand red caliper spray can.
