 Proud owner of 2011 M56x. Looking for recommendations on bang for the buck upgrades to make the car handle better (more sports car like) and free up some of the engine power that is h led back by factory design. I’ve never modified or upgraded a car before and want to ease into it slowly. Thanks in advance for any responses.

Not sure of the differences between Scale coilovers and BC coilovers but either one should be great.

An exhaust system aka catback exhaust would be great. On my to do list.

Some K & N filets or something to that effect.

Possibly some lightweight wheels. Way more things available for the M37's but love the power of the M56.

There is an uprev system that changes timing etc ie engine optimization software.

Good luck and have fun.

Oh welcome

Andy

A couple of ideas I tried,
RSR lowering springs
Custom exhaust- xpipe, 2.5” piping. Resonators, flex pipes and secondary cats removed. Magnaflow Street series mufflers
K&N performance filters
20” Flow form light weight wheels 20x10 & 20x11
Falken Tires 255/40/20. 285/35/20
Wellvisors are next

How did you like the rsr lowering springs. Was it worth the extra money over tanabe or eibach?

One thing I needed to do was replace the bulbs up front due to one burning out. I bought new headlight and fog lights and it seems to have improved my visibility. The fog lights are useless in my opinion but I did them to for continuity.

Jazzfan likes his losing springs, spoke to him a few times, way cheaper than coilovers.

By “losing springs” did you mean “lowering springs”? I appreciate the feedback because I’d love to get some benefit without spending on coil overs. Thanks!

I’m not sure if they’re more. $339.00. I did have to order them from Japan. Took 5 weeks to get here. Other than that pretty simple. I do love them tho. The ride is great and my car definitely handles better.
