Are there any books you guys would recommend to learn basic or intermediate tuning and engine building? I already own Maximum Boost.

read maximum boost a few times and your already way ahead of the game. Corky Bell writes a mean book.

goto a chapters somewhere and look up forced induction books.

These forums are also a good place to learn things. Just dont beleive everything you read.

Thanks for the info, but I was thinking about something very techical. Something that told you how to assemble an engine step by step and tuning, get such and such a/f ratio and pull this many degrees of timing. Engine assembly and tuning are something I don't really get, I was just wondering if there was a good source for both.

You'll probably want to read it in steps. By this, I mean read a more basic book. Then work up to more technical books. Starting out with a highly technical book may make it harder to understand.
