Want an audio receiver with 2019 features. Prefer to keep existing speakers and would like to be able to use steering wheel controls if possible. Any suggestions? Should I replace in-door speakers? The rear ones aren’t very good.

Go to crutchfield.com and buy any new head unit. They will give you an adapter to use the factory speakers for free with purchase. Then for another $80 they sell an adapter for the steering wheel controls. I recommend replacing the speakers as well though because the factory speaks are 2 ohm and sound crappy. I got a kenwood double din for $120 and received the mounting kit for free with it. I then used a pair of JBL GTO components up front and a cheap set of Alpines in the rear, sounds incredible and loud! The JBLS and Alpines both have 93db sensitivity so they are very loud off HU power.

existing speakers? Yes - the are crappy in the back, but fronts don't suck too bad. Videos on Youtube make it look pretty complicated to replace door speakers.

THE speakers are super easy to replace. I believe in order to continue using them with a new stereo as well as steering controls you need a pac Roem interface https://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_11 ... -NIS2.html
