Post

Hello all,

This is my first post on the site. I am in the middle of installing a 5 speed in my 1990 maxima. I took out the Auto transmission. While I was in there I wanted to replace the entire exhaust system. I am not looking for anything that sounds crazy. I just want the best flowing exhaust with a nice tone.

What are my options for headers? Also from the headers back what can I do that might be after market bolt in. I can not seem to get beyond a Pacesetter header and custom from there back.

Thanks

Jim for Montana!!

Welcome to NICO!

I've heard of quite a few people using the Pacesetter.

Check out SportCompactOnly.com. They have a good variety of headers and exhaust options for the 90 Maxima. They're also a sponsor here, so they may have NICO member discounts available. Take a look at the Advertiser's Specials forum as well...SCO or some of our other advertisers may have deals going.

For what it's worth, I absolutely love the deep, smooth sound of my Magnaflow...and it's just a catback. I'd recommend a Magnaflow system to anyone--but it's obviously a custom exhaust, nothing made-to-order or bolt-in. Click the link in my signature for a sound clip.

I checked out Sportcompactonly and they did not show any headers. I did find a Greddy Cat back system. What type of magna flow did you get? About how much did it cost you if I might ask.

It was just a few bucks over $300 installed for the cat back. I'm really not sure what "type" it is. I just told them I wanted a 2.5 inch aluminized catback with resonator, and they pieced it together for me.

My only complaint is minor: I keep knocking the tip on steep driveways because it sticks out a couple inches farther than the stock one. But for the sound it provides, I'll happily deal with that.

Pacesetter is the only one that makes headers for the VG.But you can get the same gains out of a Warpspeed Y-pipe.as for a cat-back, the only mass produced one hat I am aware of is the greddy.Magnaflow setup is buying a muffler and having the rest of it custom made at a muffler shop.

BTW I sell magnaflow
