I am starting a new job and i can finally put money in my car. it needs new tires and i want all seasons until i get new wheels. We see a little bit of everything here (rain, snow, ice)

Also try and keep it around $65 a tire max

What size are you looking at? If you are looking at the stock 195/60-15 I'd look at the Dunlop Sport A2, BF Goodrich Traction Ta HR, or the Yokohama Avid H4S. The Yokos would be your best bet in that size.

Yokohama A550V ( i think that's right)

they're decent, i don't recommend dunlops at all. their tires suck in the rain. (unless you get the $100+ tires)

In my experience, Tire Rack has always been lower to begin with than any local shop near me!

sears auto center can be pretty cheap to, and they supposedly will price match +10% discount even online retailers (print out with shipping quote required acording to their website) i was going to get my tires from tirerack untill i heard about what sears does, then when i went to check their prices out, the tire i wanted was allready on sale for cheaper than tirerack! (sorry tirerack! :oface

by the way, im getting some bfg traction t/a 's for about 80 bucks a tire.

the best tire for around 60 bucks is prolly falken 512's (which i dont believe tirerack carries)

Sears is the automotive devil. Also, I'll pay a little extra to support NICO... and Sears doesnt carry R Compund tires like I will eventually buy from tire rack.

BTW, Grant, can you special order wheels?

We are very specific with the wheel vendors we deal with and don't special order other wheel brands. The main reason is we have to be able to support the brand as well as possible after the sale. If a customer needs a center cap two years from now, we may not be able to get it if we special order the wheel from another supplier etc... Our tire prices are usually very low. For some popular mass market tires the large chains can be right in there with the price. Our advantage is the high performance tire sizes/models that your local shop simply can't stock on a daily basis. We also don't collect out of state sales tax. The BF Goodrich Traction TA H-R 195/60-15 are $57.00 each.

Grants a great guy, call him up. Those traction T/A have done nicely for my customers. I like the yoko as well.

SD: the a550 is a sears (STG) tire group specific tire made by yokohama, based on the avid tread design(the older one, not the h4/v4s)...

I'd go for the yokohama or Bfgoodrich, neither will disappoint you, and neither will Grant, or if you live in GA..you can get me to put them on for you..yay.
