...now my car won't boost past 5-6psi? I took it out for a test drive after I finished recirculating it, and while it felt a bit more responsive, it seemed like I lost power. So I got on a nice straight road and gunned it in 2nd gear on low boost (10psi). My boost gauge hit 7psi and just sat there. Interesting...so I turned it to high boost (12psi) and same thing...7psi.

Pulled over, poured some gas and let the engine cool for a bit. Checked all the hoses, everything's nice and tight. Start back home, test it once again in 2nd gear...now it's barely clearing 5psi.

What gives? I'm about to remove everything and see if that clears up the problem...really hope this fixes things.

That doesn't sound right. My boost upper limit is independent of whether or not I'm recirculating.

Do you have a BOV leak, such as opening under boost?

What would be the best way to find out if my BOV is leaking? I never took it off the cold pipe, just removed the casing, installed the fitting, then screwed the casing back on.

Here are some pics...

The hose seems kinked pretty badly.. not sure if that would have anything to do with it tho...

I would probably just temporarily vent your bov to atm (while appropriately plugging the plumb-back hole) and gun your car to see if its leaking any boost......i mean if its leaking, whether or not you're recirculating won't change that

are you sure you have tuned your boost to actually reach 12psi?

I recirculated the my bov a couple of days back. Advance auto let me go to the back were they have all ther hoses and I found the perfect one. I will post pics.

Let us know if it still leaks even when you vent it to the atmosphere.

Well running fine now...

I removed the recirculation kit in it's entirety, cut myself another length of hose, reinstalled everything, then checked and rechecked for leaks. Started it up, and took it for a test drive. Low boost is back to 10psi and high boost checks back in at 12psi.

It did die on me though...after I had to get off the gas quickly to make a panic stop (lil' old lady pulled out in front of me)...but other than that, no problems

Well there's still 2 kinks in the tubing that I've found to be unavoidable. But they don't seem to be affecting anything.
