If you recirculate the air from the bov back in to the system, how does that stop apressure surge? Is it thatthe recirculated air goes back in before the compressor?

Recirculating the air is not what stops compressor surge. Releasing air pressure after the turbo does. Recirculating it in MAF based system keeps the ECU happy as it won't be releasing metered air back into the atmosphere creating a rich condition.

I read somewhere on this forum that the deceleration function on the safc1 won't compensate for an open atmosphere bov. Does anyone have experiance with this?
