Well...did a check on the compression again today...good news

i got 140 psi across the board, still low for a rebuild, but, the good thing is that the cylinder that was reading 90 psi is now at 140....go figure

before, i tested it at 125, 90, 130, 125

now its 140, 140, 140, 140

YAYYYY!!!!!!

just out of curiosity? was the engine warm and did you hold the throttle plate open? that would be a plus+++

the last time, the motor was off for 5 minutes before doing the test, throttle plate was open

this time it had been off for an hour before doing the test, throttle plate open...im sure id get better numbers if it was warmer....forged pistons yknow

I think the areas you'd want to concentrate are the piston rings, valves, and headgasket. Good to hear you're getting better numbers. I've yet to compression test my new engine but im pretty confident ill get good numbers. Did you do the test "wet and dry?" What type of gauge are you using?

the gauge is a 30$ piece of isht from canadian tire.

did not do a wet test, i will if it doesnt increase more, but im not really concerned now that im out of the bad compression zone, and hey, even if it sticks at 140....more boost friendly (=
