You need to tighten your belts, they tend to stretch over time and have to be tightened. I personally cut two small holes in the plastic on the bottom for easier access to the tensioner pulleys. Worked wonders but you have to jack up the car a bit so you can fit under it. Made belt changes and tightening a breeze now.

Somebody else had this problem before. Is it the infiniti belt or noname? After replaced the almost new belt(noname) no issue. Squeek is usually indicates loosen belt.

I used to check my belt by pushing it. (long time ago). If you push it not too hard but not too soft either (it is if I remember right should be 1.5 kg which is about 3.5lbs) and it goes about a thumb or little less(around 1/2 inch) should be good. Try to push it somewhere center of the belt span that is middle of the distance between the 2 pulleys. The proper way would be to use a belt tension gage. But that is not too popular in people's garage. It is better with that one because you use the right force.

Hope it helps.

squeaking of belts is caused from slipping on the pulley. You need to tighten the belt. Its hard to get the feel. My way of explaining it is this: try to twist the belt in your hand, you want to get the belt tight enough where you can ALMOST twist it perpendicular to the original position.

be careful not to overtighten as this can cause undue stress to the pulleys and will wear them prematurely.

hope this helps.

These are all good ideas that you should check for, but if the belts are tightened properly as others have suggested and you still hear the squeaking sound I suggest that you check to make sure that you don't have any moisture/dirt between the pulley and the belt.

This happened to me last year, and I had to take it to the dealership to get dealt with. I too thought it was a tightening issue with my belts until I checked it at a friends house only to find out that they belts were on tight enough and that it was moisture/dirt issue.

Whatever the case though, good luck
