recent swap... 5 speed trans question / possible problem

I just did the swap, had it professionally installed and well i also had an auto to 5 speed conversion done, and well driving it is fine, new clutch and flywheel, so i am taking the first 500 miles easy, and i mean like grand ma easy, so when i engage the clutch and shift from first to second at around 2.5krpm to 3krpm or from 2nd to third around same rpm level, i get a sort of resistance, almost as if the clutch is not engaging all the way and i feel it in the stick lever, and it has me a little worried about the transmission. i had my friend drive it, and he said it might be the synchros or something but he does not know sr trans and well neither do i, but i know on a new transmission you have smooth feeling shifts...

sounds like the syncos are shot
