I need to get it scanned up for ya guys, it's a good read.

With the ECU, Impul Exhaust and intake they managed 318 hp and 327 tq

Other interesting things

They added the traction control system to the car. I guess because of EPA regulations they wern't abel to offer the active model with traction control. So they did some crazy rigging to the wiring harness, and were able to add traction control.

This car did have fairly heavy Infiniti backing, and the engineers cringed at the wiring harness hacking and the lowering, but it came out well..

Final price after everything.. $83,000

Automobile magazine thought it was best compared with the Porsche built Mercedes Benz 500E. They said the Q was at home in the twisty california backroads, while the Benz was best served on the long straight aways :)

I'll see if I scan it, it may not come out well without having it taken out of the mag

Old car mags rock... Old J30 adds in here, and all kinds of other cool stuff..

Apparently the only reason they built this car was because the toyota race car driver had an LS and Geoff couldn't be one upped..

He also had his stock 91 doing 150 at talledega

There is a dinan add in here.

They have the M30 and Q45 as available ECU upgrades.. I wonder how many they sold, besides the one to q45tech :)

Also has the Altima with the glasses stacked on top of it's hood, remember that?

I thought the champagne glass ad was for the LS400?

Remember it was on the dyno rollers?

Maybe that was a TV commercial.

Yep.. I think lexus did it to... maybe nissan ripped it from lexus.. the altima was on the dynarollers as well, it was making the point a 18,000 car could do what a 40,000 car could do...

the original wine glass commercial on TV was an infiniti. It came out around the same time they did the ball bearing one where the ball bearing was set in one of the body seams and the car was suspended and rolled around in the air like one of those old wood labyrinths you tried to keep the marbal from falling in the holes. The same actor did both commercials.

damn that movie...The evil news conglomerate!

reminds me of the Saturday Night Live commercial for the Chameleon, where the marble falls in a rust hole...comedy...

The older mags do infact rock. I have the actual dealer brochure for the '89 Thunderbird, scored it off ebay...it's pretty amusing...to read. The stuff about the SC, while kinda amusing, is actually true for the most part though. I wish mine was still showroom new though...

The wine glass ad is a ripoff of a Lincoln ad that ran decades ago. They had a Town Car driving with a record player in the back, and it didnt skip.

I don't find that impressive at all. The wine glass is much more of an accomplishment

Well, they all use tricks for the TV ads. Im sure the wine glasses were lightly glued.

In the Lincoln ad, they heavily weighted down the needle. That record in the ad was only playable once. :)

In Canada, Lexus did a commercial where they stood a Loonie on edge on a running engine. (Loonies are 11 sided)

Man, some of our members have to get out more if they don't know the slang term for the currency unit of the US's largest trading partner.

Bit of trivia: The reason the dollar coin (paper dollars were discarded some years ago) is called a Loonie is because there is a picture of a loon on a northern lake on one side. Can you guess what's on the other side?

Anywho, the dollar coin was supposed to have the traditional voyageur canoe scene that had been on silver dollars for decades but the die for the new coin got lost in the mail! No kidding! They went with a runner up design, the loon. The die never ever turned up as far as I know.

I was afraid someone would think of the whole flock of the birds sitting on the car.

I would trade a lot of the women N of the Mason-Dixon line for most of the peaches-and-cream Canadian ones. Now that's a trading partner!
