Hi people! I just got my engine and I beggan to snap photos. Not much time to describe atm but ere are soem pics. http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/...hotos

SUpertech pistons on rebore, and port and polish on head. I got those free cams from him, ARP studs on there and metal headgasket that I didn't snap a photo off. Im going to have some local well-known guys instal Pauter Rods just to be safe, althougth the stock rods were supposed to be SHotpeened and stuff, but I won't risk it on that. Also going to ask the guys at the shop to go over everything again, blueprint checkign for clearances and all that good stuff. See you later guys. thx

Yeah it's 9:1:1 supertechs. It's an iron block so yeah. Plus I know it was sittin' somewhere for a while cause I ordered this many months ago. So yeah, that's what I said too. The bore is very smooth, however. . I already spoke to a local shop here who's been known to do a ton of KA24DE rebuilds. Im goign to have everythign double checked with new Pauter rods and rod bolts.

are they going to dissable the entire shortblock? if so have them hot tank the block then get some paint on it so it doesnt rust. i am running the same pistons on my kae and they rock, no cold startup noise no pistons slap. they are damn good so far

Yeah, goan have em take it appart, Im want the piece of mind to know it's not going to blow to hell on. My KA-T project must go on, I had a lot of setbacks, but I goat push thru. It's painted, actually. It was supposed to be hot tanked already. It has this silver-finish on it, but I see a lil rust on the outside, but doesn't look like it's penetrating. But everything is clean, get it? Yeah. Imma have em do everything, check all clearances, check the bore job etc...plus Im exited about new rods. =)

na, 1st build. My power goals, at least 300hp. I want to run 18 psi on 91octane gas. I got almost everything from my turbo set to go. Garret t3/t4 with 550cc RCE Injectors, Walbro FP, BD manifold and downpipe(it's the old good one and I might just sell it with the IC piping I got from em, I want another mani and stuff possibly. I need oil and fuel lines, intercooler. I read on here that some guy got his stock rods shotpeened and stuff and they broke, althought he has JWT ECU tunning. I can't let it al go to waste, too much work and I been at this for OVER A YEAR. Wish me luck bud. =)

Bite the bullet and get Pauter rods liek I am, with the rod bolts. They are pricey, but they amongst the best, and you can't argue that. It's piece of mind also. I say bite the bullet adn go for it, I don't see how you'll regret it.

well i live in an apt and my car is my daily driver so its kinda hard to pull the motor out and swap out rods thats why i am going to rent a storage unit and build my second kae in there with forged rods and pistons.

i would def. not recommend 18 psi on 91 octane gas. 18 psi is almost too much for 93 octane. trust me, i was on a dyno 3 days ago and pushed my engine to 20 psi on 93 octane. made 388hp, but it wasnt the safest or best thing to do for my motor

K thx for the tip! I should be fine at 15psi then? Reason is I plan on keeping my S14 for at least another 4 years, and I want reliability to at least be on par with a factory turbo car, or at least trying. Im going to order rods tonite! Pauter or Crower? =) I spoke to the local shop guys and they said they build KAs all the time. Im looking forward to it.

91 octane should be good for 15psi. pay the extra $$$ and get the crower rods now or you will be sorry later

Yeah Im getting the Crower rods and they also come with Rob bolts I was told by the sales guy. Hey SUnny, how;s that BD.com stage 1 working for you? ANy problems? Im going to take my turbo to get checked out at a turbo-specilists shop here to check the internals to make sure it's good. It has a lil play and I wana make sure it's nothign that'll make it explode on 1st run
