recall..

so i just made my appt for the strut tower recall on my 2001 qx4.. the guy said it can take 2 day to 3 months .. they said they gonna give me a rent a car .. so i guess we'll see what happens.. im using the manhasset dealer here in ny.. anyone have any experience with them.. what should i expect.. i looked at the strut and theres a huge hole right threw with alot of rust .. i just bought this suv like 2 months ago and already put some money in it and im afraid if it is deemed not for the road that there gonna give me less then i paid for it

I can't say much for the dealership... but in regards deeming it unsafe to drive, that's certainly a possibility. Depending on the amount of rust, location of that rust-hole, and how much material has deteriorated, they could "buy" the car from you.

In some cases, you might be able to have them "buy" whatever your spend money on to maintain it (eg. if you bought new tires, new suspension, etc).

I don't mean to jinx you, but have a plan for either way it goes (repairing and buying from you).
