Did you guys see this this morning ??

Nissan is recalling Muranos and Maximas with I-Key.

"The recalls involve only the cars with "intelligent keys" with IC tips inside.

The lock device of the ignition key is not appropriately attached in some cars and it does not lock when the driver turns the engine off, according to Soma."

I have the I-Key in my V. The lock hasn't fallen off, but I have noticed that quite often, it's kinda difficult to lock the ignition when turning off the car.... gotta kinda jiggle the ignition switch.

Wonder if the V's will eventually be involved in this...... or any model with the I-key.

I saw that. I wonder if it depends on where the cars were made. The article said:Nissan is recalling in Japan of 50,962 X-Trail and Murano sport utility vehicles produced from August 2004 to July 2006, Nissan spokeswoman Madoka Soma said.

That would include our Versas.

Nissan is always very specific with their recall information. I wouldn't worry: if it's not listed, it's not included. Also, when looking up recall information by model, nothing turns up under the Versa.

The Japan recall of X-Trail and Murano isn't connected with the since it's limited to the X-trail and Murano. Even if it was model-wide, our Versas are built in a Mexican or US plant, and not the same plant any Japanese models.
