Hey, I have two question. I recently just purchased the 240 SX, How would I know if the previous owner DID bring the car back to the nissan due to the manufacture recall.
PLEASE HELP ME-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Brakes: Hydraulic: Lamp light: Brake warning: FMVSS 105 Model: 240SX
Manufacturer Recall Number: 94V135000
Units Affected: 7500
Defect: The instrument panel brake warning light will not illuminate when the brake fluid level in the master cylinder drops sufficiently to activate the low level switch due to an improperly wired diode, required by FMVSS 105, "hydraulic brake systems."
Consequences: There would be no indication to the driver of the vehicle that brake fluid was low. Low brake fluid can be caused by a leak in the system which may result in partial or complete loss of brakes and an accident.
Corrective Action: Dealers will correct the electrical circuit for the brake warning system so that the warning lamp will illuminate when the low level switch is activated.
Note: If your vehicle is presented to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and the remedy is not provided within a reasonable time and free of charge, or the remedy does not correct the defect or noncompliance, please contact Nissan service center at 1-800-647-7261. Also, contact NHTSA's auto safety hotline at 1-800-424-9393.
Structure: Door assembly: Latches and locks Model: D21
Manufacturer Recall Number: 94V243000
Units Affected: 200
Defect: Trucks were assembled without a door lock plate in the right side door.
Consequences: This condition can result in the door not latching correctly, in an accident, exposing passenger to increased risk of injury.
Corrective Action: Dealers will inspect and install door lock plate in vehicles which are missing a door plate.
Note: If the vehicle is presented to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and the remedy is not provided free of charge within a reasonable time, please contact Nissan at 1-800-647-7261. Also contact NHTSA's auto safety hotline at 1-800-424-9393.
