Well I was driving down the high way today and what looked like part of someone's exhaust had fallen off of there car and with no time to swerve at all i run over the pipe laying on the ground and it hits the bottom of my car in the rear somewhere. After that I am driving and the car seems fine and when i stop the gas gauge is up above 3/4 of a tank and before i got gas the fuel light was on and i put in like 2.8 gallons or something like that. Now my question is, how do i recalibrate the gas gauge? Thanx.

I dont think you need recalibration. you need to inspect the damage and pull the sender out of the tank and see if maybe its just hung up on something. You access it through the floor under your rear seat.

Ok now I have an even worse problem than i had before. Earlier when i was going around a turn my car started to die. It did that like 3 or 4 times during the day, but it was only when i was going around a turn. Any suggestions to what it might be b/c i have no clue as to what it might even be.

I was planning on replacing the water pump and all the belts this monday as well as draining the transmission, and putting in a new t-stat. I'm hoping that will solve all of my problems.

i doubt it will come close to solving any of your problems since those components have absolutely nothing to do with your symptoms.

you need to open the fuel tank, and inspect the components. if you think that those parts will help you, this is out of your scope.

you most likely damaged the fuel tank, or the pump/sender bracket.

if the gauge isnt working, right, you probably damaged/dislodged the tank's gauge sender. in doing that, when you ran over the debris, you may have distorted the bottom of the fuel tank. that might be leading the fuel pump's pickup to become obstructed or uncovered when you make a hard turn. that in turn is causing the motor to bog when it no longer receives fuel pressure.

in other words, the fuel pump bracket or the fuel tank are damaged.
