So, I drove my transmission into the ground... why? because I'm an idiot. Learned a lesson I found a garage that was able to rebuild it.. luckily I hadn't messed it up too bad. The car runs great now(shifts beautifully).. but sometimes it won't stay on. What happens is, when I turn the key, it turns over, starts and dies within .5-1 second. It gets up to maybe 500 rpms and dies. If I give it a little gas, it generally turns on.. or if I try 3 or 4 times it turns on... or if it's been running for a while it generally turns on.
Sometimes when it turns on, and stays on, the initial rev is low.. like it turns on, goes to 600rpm, dips to 200-300 rpm, then climbs to 650-750 rpms.. sometimes it turns on and rev's perfectly(straight to about 650.) Once the car is running, it runs perfectly.
My mechanic found an idle learning procedure, and we tried it, but it didn't help really. I found one on here but it was different from his. He thinks maybe the car will just "fix" itself over time. I don't necessarily believe that one. It just doesn't sound right
Does anyone have any thoughts?
