I've got a 93' fast back with a pretty good oil leak, I've been told I should get a new motor, or have this rebuilt. The mechanic says there is a "little walk" in the crank shaft, so the seal is leaking. ANYONE know of a reputable garage in the Tacoma/Seattle area for a new or rebuild engine, that won't rip me off? Any and all help would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance.

If your budget is tight, just buy another ka24de... There are so many people that do engine swaps, a lot of these get dumped or sold for less than 400. It's a lot better than one grand for a rebuild. If you have money either swap engines for what you want or rebuild with bolstered internals if you want to keep the ka. But don't waste all that money rebuilding it to stock specs.

Hey thanks for the note, so can you recommend someone local to buy a rebuilt from who has a good rep? a good quality swap? I bought this new in 93, and i'm really really not sure of the differences in engines, it's just my daily driver. Thanks again.

the engines last forever. a swap makes sense. a lot of bad things happen when they are opened up.
