The fuel doesn't really matter..... as long as you aren't running race gas..... I would say stick with the fuel that you are gonna use more often. that and the high octane gas is typically a better quality gas anyway. that is part of the reason why your car runs better with it.

91! is the way to go. try and put chevron. i have a 96 S14 too and my car loves 91 from chevron. i remember when i had my 90 single cam i would run 87 from what ever brand was cheapest at the time. when i would punch it smoke would come out of the exhaust. my bubby told me to switch to a higher grade and i went to 89... no more white smoke! on my S14 when i bought it it had the same problem. the preveuos owner put 87 on it. i started putting 91 on my S14.... i have never had any problems with my car since then.

89 everytime..every 5th or so fill up i put in 93 to burn off excess carbons left over.i also fill the tank everytime..so no 5 dollars here and there

do it on my jeep, 196k and still kicking with no engine work ever done

yea most engines are designed to run on the middle grade..unlike an s2k which will only run well on 93. but on a ka, not so much
