Well I was able to enjoy my 5 speed swap for only a month and it turns out my sycros were trashed :( So my friend at a transmission shop will let me rebuild my transmission at his shop afterhours and i was wondering if there are any performance/ more durable parts than OEM to consider. I am very close to starting my KA24DET so I am just taking as many safety steps as I can.

no differences. the only difference between a KA and an SR transmission are the bolt pattern on the front case [bellhousing]

ok so sr transmission internals are not stronger than oem KA transmission internals? This will answer all questions for me unless there is an aftermarket rebuild kit with stronger parts.

nope, the KADE and SR trannies are the same mechanically. the gear ratios, and actual gears are identical.

a rebuild with standard parts will be fine. you only need upgraded synchros if you want to powershift all the time.

as long as you can drive the car correctly, its fine.

i dont even know if there are any companies that make upgraded synchros and such

i think that the stock transmission and drive train are good for like 400 horse power, so you shouldnt have any problems.good luck, tell us how it goes

I'll ask the name of the company today. I wen't through my friends transmission shop to pay wholesale price on parts so I didn't order it, but i'll have the name of the company as soon as I get there.

Meeting you to get it will definietly be an option. My grandma lives in Gainesville, FL.

I gotta get a mechanic's opinion and do a lil more research, and I'll let you know. Thanks man.

Yes there a company that makes rebuilding kits in steps for our trannys. the best thing is that is cheap and from Ebay.

Transmission Exchange. They have a complete bearing set for 70 or so and the syncros for like 30 or soUse Ebay search for Nissan Transmission

Try importperformancetrans.com

They have done some work on other Nissans for me and can make a pretty-much bulletproof transmission for you for the same price as a good rebuild, if you are looking to put a lot of power to the ground. They also have replacements for the syncros. I think the S13 transmissions use brass internals (I'm not sure, but most Nissan transmissions do), which are weaker and synthetic transmission fluid will break them down quickly.

Here's another one: drivetrain.com

They also have explosion diagrams and tell you how to identify transmission variations (for ex, diff between FS5W71A,B,C)
