I was just told my my mechanic that i will have to probably rebuld the my 91 ka motor cuz of crank problems, would i be able to just a turbo and manifold and the nessicary parts to go boost? do i need need forged pistons to complete it?and the its getting installed by my mechanic not a regular to turbo so i might have to get it dropped in then take it to some one who has dealt with KA-T's

and yes i know i have the future of an SR in my sig but i figured if i am getting a rebuilt motor why not add a turbo.

get it rebuilt first. make sure everything is running good. this beats the sr now that you have a zero mile motor and sr's have at least 40k.

you are only a couple hours from me if you need a turbo kit installed

Couple of ?uestions. with the engine already rebuilt1. could i just bolt a turbo and etc on?2. As for the ECU what needs to be done?3. what about internals, besides pistons, injectors, what else is really needed?

Unless you want to do the tuning yourself, buy a JWT ECU, they are just under $600. The internals will be fine up to 350 or so whp. So if your planning on running big boost, you might as well change the pistons and rings. If not, then the sock internals are fine.

What do you mean "crank problems"? If you have damage to your crank, I would sugest buying a new shortblock or a good condition used crank. "Rebuilt" or resurfaced cranks make me nervous.
