Rebuilding Starter

I dont want to give any money (or at least as little as possible) to the car parts whores like "pep boys". Where can i get just the motor without the bracket and without the solenoid? From what i understand we have a gear reduction motor, but, uhh im not sure what that has do to with finding the correct one.

Go look in the phone book for a starter/alternator shop. They can rebuild the one you have cheaper then getting a rebuilt unit.
