Post

Ok so im asking these questions before I start the work. I sold my other car (01 toyota celica gt) to fund this. Heres what I got:

Barebones stock KA24DE with about 130k on it.

Now I looked on some sites for prices and this is what ive got planned so far:

Full MR exhaustARP HeadstudsBC Connecting RodsBC Stainless ValvesCP Forged Pistonsand then obvious other mods

but on to my questions:

I am wanting to go supercharger, but when I search for one, I can never find one. I have searched on her for right ups on how to do an install. Does anyone make a manifold for one or not? Is it custom fabricated?

On the other side I thought about going turbo. I found a t2 turbo for $75, but i bet its broken. How hard is a rebuild, if possible?

What type of diff should I go with? Im tried of stupid hondas and cobalts beating my tired 240, and was told to get it welded because it acts like a posi read end. My dads 69 camaro has a posi rear end and I love driving that thing.

What type of tuning software should I use? I have no knowledge of fuel management or tuning at all. I live in Grand Rapids, MI and there are no shops here that will help me out. They only work on pontiacs and cobalts. Any help here would be great.

Im not good at drifting at all, i kinda suck at it. But I want to get better. Im looking to re-do the suspension and was wondering if i could just replace the OEM with new OEM if available or replace with aftermarket stuff. What kind of punishment can the OEM take?

Im not looking for alot of hp, would love to get in the 300-450 range. But need the torque to back it up. Before any one asks why im not going sr or rb, I tried to find one here in Michigan or even surrounding states, and couldnt. I also feel wary about buying from a site, ive heard most are a scam. I dealt with one, who I will not name, when trying to do a 2jz swap into my celica. I was ready to have a friend do the custom fab for the tunnel and read end and everything else. Engine never showed. So I sued them and got my money back. My friend subsequently went to prison for assault. So here I am. I know this thread is long but any help would be greatly appreciated!

p.s. How do you check private messages?

if youre going to go with forced induction i would suggest a turbo a supercharger is a great idea but requires a custom manifold and other parts as well. and as far as the diff goes if youre going to use the car on the streets and want to drift youre going to want to use a 1.5 limited slip the 2.0 is used for cars that are going to be track only. On youre machining and program question im not to sure what to tell you. and i would not recomend going with another OEM suspension if you plan on drifting you need to have a rock hard set up like coilovers and tie rods sway bars and strut bars too

and last but not least i would keep youre ka because they are torque beasts and you already have the motor think about it to get a sr its about 3k and if you just put that money into your ka it would be much faster and more reliable without all of the swapped
