ok i am thinking i got a ka24e here with cracked block and blown head gasket the heaAD IS STILL GOOD. so i am thinking about picking up a used block new head gasket and using my old head. The question is can i use a block from a nissan truck since they use ka24e also and is there anything else i will need to get my idea acomplished.??

I think, am not sure, but think that the truck has lower compression pistons and so unless you swapped all the bottom end stuff also, you would have a different compression ratio.

Somebody correct this if it is wrong.

How was your timing chain cover. I went throught this with my old engine. The car overheated one day when I was driving it and I found antifreeze in the oil. I thought that maybe the head gasket went out so ended up taking the cylinder head off and replacing the head gasket and putting it all together to find out that I didn't fix anything, same problem. Well after that I thought that the block was cracked and bought a new engine for it. Well when the old one was out I took the timing chain cover off and discovered the chain ate throught the cover.

this sounds about like what could be wrong with my engine, any suggestions on how to fix it?

Well you could replace the timing chain cover and all of the tensioners. Probably wouldn't be a bad idea to change the chain while you have all of that stuff open. I just bought a different engine and put it in their, runs better than ever.

i took a look inside my engine and I think I may replace it anyway. There was rust on so much stuff. I found one locally that might have the timing chain problem too but if I hear back from the guy I might go look at it anyway, it has less miles than mine.
