I actually put everything back together to check for clearence issues and the crank spun fine[IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG]4 and 5 mains[IMG][/IMG]Sux bcuz i've never ran this engine except to make sure it sounded ok. Been in my garage for a year now.Any suggestions?

just get it fix at the machine shop and buy the US 91 nissan sentra se-r bearing kit its the same i just recently got my block done. I would still probably get the cranked polished!! it cost me 277 where i live and i did a full re ring kit, polished the crank, new piston ring kit and honed the cylinder so its not that bad.

Ive got acl already, didnt think a machine shop could fix this but i'll have 2 see. I was certainly trying to avoid the extra shop cost. Funny thing is the bearing sits fine even with the lil missing chunk. There was also no crank movement b4 or after i torqued everything down.

yeah it might sit fine but its gonna get worst and your gonna risk having metal pieces floating around and destroy the entire motor. And if your gonna be driving it hard thats just asking for things to get worst in your condition. so i recommend getting it fixed you have it all apart already!!

No i hadnt planned on leaving it this way. I'm almost CERTAIN this will be a shop issue, I was just curious if anyone has had any WORSE block damage that the machine shop miraculously handled with ease. Ive just never seen a block damaged by a bearing before (shoulda stayed ka)

Thats one nasty suprize there dude. You might need another engine block, and I think some one here is selling a few of them left over in the clasified section.

Looks like my current block is going to be my spare block. I bought a block in slightly better shape than mine to continue my build and i'm sending it off to get machined asap with a slight overbore. I have everything already needed for a bottom rebuild besides pistons (which I will be getting soon). Hopefully I'll get it up and running by nxt month. Thanx.Still baffled by this and cant figure out how a spun bearing could do this kinda damage.
