Is it possible to rebuild a manual trans yourself? I have am on my 2nd used trans and this one is starting to grind a bit, and could possibly be the syncros. This is 2 trans in less than 2 months and I'm getting tired of switching the trannys. How hard is it to rebuild a manual trans and where can I get stronger internals from? I don't want to spend $1000 on an autozone transmission, and I don't want to spend $300 on a junkyard trans that could die in 2 months.
Any ideas?

Candela is right - it's not THAT difficult, just very time consuming, especially if you've never cracked open a transmission before. There's a surprisingly large number of parts inside there, and they only fit together one way - any mistakes, and it just won't work. So if you're thinking about doing a rebuild yourself, make sure to have an entire garage floor at your disposal for labeling and sorting parts, as well as a detailed diagram of how everything goes together.
