Hi everyone!

I am wanting to rebuild a ka24de for the experience and to later build into performance. But I am a novice builder and still have lots to learn. My current ka24de I've stripped down and the lobs on the cam, valves, pistons, rods, crank, you name it. All internals have run all over them. So What I am going to do is take the block and head upto a machine shop to have it cleaned up and as it looks I am going to be paying around 300.

So that has put a pinch in my budget in the mean time. A friend was telling me to go buy another motor with all good internals and just swap them over into my block with new bearings, rings, etc and that will get me by for cheaper. So will that work out if all parts are in good condition? Now my next problem is I can't find no other RWD ka24de local for parts only but tons of altima around with the FWD ka24de which from what I understand all the internals are same and interchangeable. So could I swap all internals?

Thanks for reading.

Yes you can definately swmsap internals. Just fallow, the fsm and make sure it's balanced.

Also, you may want to mic the cylinders before reassembly, just to make sure they haven't worn oddly or something. Mine had a nasty lip in it and had to be bored. And make sure the water jacket is nice and clear/cleaned out(since the KAs were notorious for overheating).
