rebuilding engine for performance (help)

I have a 2001 nissan maxima that I would like to rebuild with performance parts. Not because i want it to be a race car, just because i want something nice for myself. Now this may be old news to most of you but as I'm coming to find out there are little to no performance parts for my year. Is this true or am i looking in all of the wrong places?

Edit: If so what kind of work can be done?

your question is how much do you wanna spend for custom parts because alot of the time that is just it all the things you end up doing are custom. VQ30DE-K's are just like VQ30DE's just with a variable valve timing cam gear in it. There are some parts more then what i have in options for my VE30DE but research is the key to all your questions. Get to doing your research.
