I'm preparing to clean, rebuild, and paint/powerder coat my Brembo and Z32 calipers and clean/paint the rotors. What color do you guys think I should use for the calipers? Original colors for the Brembo's was gold w/red letters. I'm partial to red/white letters. I'm going to glass bead the rotors and paint the centers black. Oh, can anyone confirm that the rears are in fact from a Z32?

Here are photos in their current state just before I pulled them off the donor car.

Yes, but not for the G50 per se. One has to extrapolate from Z32 kits and calcualting resultant pressures and balance from MC in combination with caliper pistons.

Be sure to wrap them or SS braid will capture sharp shards and puncture the rubber lines eventually.

one thing is for sure, they are high for thinking that 3k for that front setup is worth it!!!!

Maybe one of these days I'll calculate the difference between the Z brakes and those. Big brakes are highly overrated unless you have the tires to back them.

Considering the color of your car, I'd go with silver / champagne. Kind of like these:

You may consider one of these:

Not at all! If you have the suspension, wheels, tires and the space free from patrolling tax collectors, they are very useful. In everyday traffic, they are overkill, unless you live in Germany.

What are you talking about? It's not stainless "wrap" over rubber lines. These are full SS lines with compression ends. SS lines don't typically have rubber in the core.

I agree super. For me this install is about looks. My brakes work fine for me and look decent enough with my stillen rotors but these Brembo's just ooz coolness.

You want em Super? Make an offer. As is or refurbed. As is would sure save me some trouble. I did already glass bead blast the Brembo rotors, much better already, now they need the centers painted.

I color match all my calipers to the car paint color.

Of course, all my cars are black, except my newest Corvette, which is red. It will get red powdercoat on the calipers.

The rears are the OEM Z32 calipers.

By the way, all stainless lines have rubber cores. The stainless wrap is manufactured as an integrap part of the hose to keep it from flexing and expanding, causing a mushy pedal. Most stainless brake lines have a clear epoxy coating on them for protection. I ran unprotected lines (sounds sexy) on Layla for 250,000 miles without any trouble. Lola's are protected.

I wouldn't say "all" ss lines use rubber. Maybe on brakes only? Reason I'm saying this is that the NOS feed line was braided and was not rubber. My turbo oil feed lines are SS/teflon lines. The lines we used in my industrial applications are typically SS/Teflon tubing.

Anyway, simple to wrap. The front ones do have some wrap on a small section of it.

Don't get me started Rick....

2006 Brabus S V12 Biturbo BRABUS high-performance brake system with 12-piston aluminum fixed calipers and 380 x 36-mm vented and cross-drilled discs in front, and 355 x 28-mm discs and six-piston aluminum fixed calipers on the rear axle.

Bugatti Veyron 16.4Unique cross-drilled and turbine vented carbon rotors draw in cooling air. Each caliper has eight titanium pistons. Bugatti claims maximum deceleration of 1.3 g on road tires. Prototypes have been subjected to repeated 1.0 g braking from 194 to 50 mph without fade. With the car's fearsome acceleration from 50 to 194 mph, that test can be performed every 22 seconds.

Or check out Brembo APracing for the real serious stuff. Some rotors are 43 mm thick.

Also Endless makes some interesting stuff, but largely unproven in international competition.

Of all aftermarket brakes, Brembo parts are the most widely available.
