Looking at rebuilding the old r-12 compressor on my truck so I can make it into an Air compressor for a set of tanks I want to mount in the back. Anyone have any diagrams on how to do it?

That's a pretty ambitious project, and all I can say is that there might be some AC compressor diagrams in the factory service manuals (www.nicoclub.com/fsm).

You also shouldn't really have an issue finding multiple R-12 AC compressors if you mess yours up haha. They should be everywhere, and practically free.

Good deal!
Let us know how you make out!
If you get it down to a science, it'd be great if you were to write an article about it :)

Okay.. the Compressor is off the truck.. cleaned it up.. and I'm kinda winging this entire thing so here we go!

Used a box cuter to cut the olf lines off.. hit it with some cleaners and there's the almost end result. I want to clean it a little more.

The bypassing of the "Temp switch?" on the compressor to hardwire it.

damn, now you're going to have to buy new lines instead of just new o-rings.

I planned on it actually. I am having my brother grab me some line from his work -He's a diesel tech for Freightliner- And help me wire up pressure switches and such.
