Hey guys, I'm in the process of rebuilding my KA24DE. We just pulled it this weekend and it's sitting pretty in the garage on the engine stand.

In about a year or so, I will have saved money to turbo the engine, so for now I'm rebuilding it to take off those 120,000+ miles and make sure it's good and ready for some boost.

I want the engine to run well in the meantime, but I also don't want to blow a whole lot of money on injectors. Looking around online, OEM replacements look to be about $100 each, while the Accel brand injectors are around $40 each. I know the saying goes, you get what you pay for, but seeing how I will replace the injectors in about a year or so when the turbo goes on, what do you guys recommend I do in the meantime?

Do I get new ones from Accel, since they're cheap enough, and if so, what lbs/hr?

Do I get the existing ones cleaned/serviced, and if so, where or can I do it myself?

Or is there another alternative I'm missing (including not replacing them at all)?

Thanks for any help.

Well, I just had a similar question myself I put in a post last week. My question to you is will accel infectors fit in our cars? If so, my opinion would be definately go with the Accel injectors. All that you need to do is find the right flow rating. Accel has a conversion equation to go from lbs. per hour to cc's on their web page. If somebody can give me a definate answer about fitment I know that I will be going with accel because of cost and availability. Accel makes a lot of parts and they have been around for a long time so I am sure the quality of their product is pretty good.

Well, the way I found the accel injectors int he first place was by inputing my vehicle information into JC Whitney's website (I believe it was them, or someone similar) and that was an option that returned. This leads me to believe fitment is not an issue. However, for the 240sx, they had listed 17 lbs/hr, 19lbs/hr and 21 lbs/hr listed as available flow rates. I was told the stock 240 injectors are 270cc/min which translates to like 26 lb/hr injectors. So now I'm all confused because it doesn't seem like the flow rate I want out of these reasonably priced injectors is available.

Anyone have anything to add to this to clear things up? otherwise I might just have them sent out to be cleaned and serviced by rceng.com

Well, yes I was in fact informed that the stock injectors are about 26 lb per hour units. However accel makes injectors up to 48 lb per hour, and as long as you stay under 36 lb per hour the cost is close, after you go above that the cost increases significantly. 36 lb per hour injectors are about $52 from summit. The stock 26 lb ones are about $36. Im not sure what size you will need, but they are still much cheaper than any other injector listed for our vehicles.
