How hard is it to rebuild a r200v differential? I have been been hearing horror stories and to have a professional do it.

never done a r200 but i have had them apart before. it does not look hard to me as long as you have all the precision tools(i do).

It's not that hard.. just takes time.

You just need a vice, and a biiig socket for a few bolts... I took a look at my VLSD when I was replacing the rear cover gasket.. and was contemplating on whether to replace the races, bearings, and oil seals..

but if i had the right tools, i bet it wouldn't have been impossible.

If you are not able to check the tolerances and clearances you can and will shorten the life of your diff. Just FYI.
