It might be a good idea to get that $200 motor so that between the two motors you can use the parts that are in best condition.
Your blown motor may be OK to rebuild depending on what went wrong to cause it to fail.
You may find out that the cost of rebuilding both motors might turn out to be the same.
There's no guarantee that the $200 motor is in good shape; there may be a crack in the block or a defect in one or more rods; the crank may need regrinding, etc.
Some of the basic things that need to be done for starters is getting theblock boiled and magnefluxed, measuring the cylinders for out-of-round andtaper then determining if the cylinders need only to be honed or bored tothe next oversize. The crank needs to be magneflux and straightened then the journals measured to determine if they need to be reground to the nextundersize. The rods need to be magnefluxed and straightened.
