Hi, I realy don't have much clue on rebuilding engines and I will be doing that to my car's KA24DE ths summer mostly by myself because I can't afford to pay $2500 at a shop. So here's what I (think) will need

-Info on parts that should be replaced and where I can get specific instructions so I don't end up actually breaking the worn engine.(now it only leaks at main seals but since I started out in the first place to race on track I decided 180K is too old)

-an idea of how much it will cost to do things I can't do with basic tools.

-Any way I can put in premium parts to make the engine more reliable at high rpms. I would like to drive it at 7,500 rpm but it seems the power peak is at 5,600rpm according to some sources I read.

-I would like to reduce the weight of the iron block. Any compatiable aluminum blocks I can switch in (such as from a broken SR20 etc)

Thanks. I'll be post back in this thread again as I progress. Still cutting off the damage to take out parts from old car.

Well first off if your not comfortable doing it don't.Download the FSM availible here in the forums.Buy a rebuild kit from a sponser.Gonna need more then BASIC tools.Driving at 7500 RPM is not going to happen, that's the SR's redline. No other block can be used.

Good Luck Man
