i wouldn't rebuild...i think that 155 or 160 is about what the factory compression was IIRC

Your compression is consistant across the board. Which is really good. Standard pressure is 179psi. The factory manual sets the minnimal pressure at 151psi.

If you are going to turbo or want maximum performance out of your KA, maybee you should rebuild. If you are not looking for this, your engine is fine, and will probably provide you with many more years of service.

I have the exact same thing. It's 155 all across, but 4 is at 152. Also, I have crankcase pressure, so I have been debating wether to rebuild or not.

155-152 deviations is small so its not a big deal. If you have a lot of crankcase pressure you might start debating on a rebuild. How much oil are you using?

Don't know right now, I'll find out. But also, the check engine light started coming on last week, but after freeway driving it went off. Then it kept getting more and more rapid, on for a shorter amount of time more frequently, then off for the rest of the day. Then today it came on twice in one 20 minute drive. I'm really not looking forward to forking out rebuild money...

I just finished rebuilding mine, and you are right it is expensive, and a mayor time consuming pain in the *** process.
