rebuild VE ???

my 92 VE has got 167K on it and it`son it`s way out. It blows oil. Everytime I come off a light, it`s blue smoke out the tail pipe. So .. my question ... rebuild w/ .020 pistons or go JDM ??? feedback please

With the rebuild you'll at least know the condition of the engine, unlike most JDM engines, but I would also compare prices and go from there. You can find good JDM engines and they generally do have lower mileage. The JDM swap may end up being cheaper than the rebuild if you find one at a decent price and it may not take as much down time as a rebuild could.
