Hey guys....i blew my Ka last week due to constant overheating and runnning low on oil (i know, good job.....but i wanted to rebuild it anyway). The car has 127,000 miles on it and now im looking for a rebuild.

I still have a ka24de, just a FWD vehicle (97 altima w/ 176k miles)

ok, so ive heard and looked at importperformanceparts.net site....that kit is a lot of money but is it worth it? Do any kits that you know of come with new (stiffer) springs/retainers? I just need a little more help with a kit...

my goal is to stay N/A for the time being....here is a list of the mods i will have...

aem intakeobx headercatco high flow catbrm exhaustUnderdrive crank pulleyJim Wolf camsJim Wolf ECU ........ all of these parts i already have, some just havent been installed.

so with this setup, would it be wise to go .20 over to gain a few HP or just leave it with a stock rebuild?

..like i said, for the time being, i will stay N/A, so what would be my best bet for a rebuild kit and should i stay with a basic and stock rebuild or go with a beefier rebuild kit? Thanks in advance!

I'd have the head rebuilt with new guides and seals and a good 3 angle while your at it. Have the head and block decked with the timing covers installed. Bore it 20 with some aftermarket pistons; aria's, supertechs, whatever floats your boat. I'd have the crank micropolished and install new bearings I wouldn't turn the crank. I'd buy arp rod, main, and head bolts and a felpro master gasket set, it'll come with everything you need including new valve seals and headgasket. I'd check the oil pump per the fsm, and replace the timing components. That will give you a good quality rebuild if machined and assembled correctly for a fair price. If your mechanically inclined you can get a fsm and only have to pay for the machine work and the head rebuild and assemble it yourself and save 500-1000 depending on how much the machine shop you use charges for bb. Are you going to stay n/a or eventually turbo it?

Also the guy at importperformanceparts is a d!ck, I almost bought a bunch of parts from him a few years ago and after talking to him over the phone I just hung up on him, he could have had a bad day or something but I don't do business like that with a prospective customer. Check out AMS they rock great prices and bad arce customer service.
