What kinda price am I looking at? Forged pistons all gaskets and so on. Looking for a motor that could support an easy 400 Hp. I am not asking about fuel system turbo or anything other than the motor. Can any one help with a rough cost?

Your stock CA ca do tht. But cost is around $800 minus the new oil pump that I recommend you get which is around $180-$220.

Hey Xero! Haven't seen you in here in a while. You should come visit more often. Anyway, no, not too many problems with them, but if you're going to rebuild you might as well. The UK guys say that they have problems with them sometimes. I think mine might have been on it's way out as when I looked at the rod bearings the #3 looked a little worn. I'm ordering my new pump tomorrow and new main bearings. This was supposed to be a simple ring replacement....

ic ic, I'm so out of practice with the CA thing :( things have been shaping up lately, though. My car will soon be paid off (possibly with in the week, 2 max if a deal with some wheels I have goes through) and it's on to coilovers, and some other little drifting toys. Looks like I'm gonna need a bit more power for the 18s I plan on ordering, they're gonna grip too much with a KA and a stock clutch, even with the Kaaz 2-way I've got in there.

So, after looking at SRs, because I can get a complete swap uber cheap, I decided that I totally hate that engine, too many people have had too many problems that aren't related to things like the bottom-end, i.e. easily replacable trouble-shootable parts. And the head sucks balls. I'd rather have cams on buckets and a timing belt. It's funny when people give me crap for wanted a CA, saying I just want to be original. Actually, it's 'cause the SR is a ****ty engine, Nissans cheaper alternative, it was the cheap replacement for the expensive leading technology of that of the CA.

So here I am :D for what, the 4th time returning? Sheit, I probably will come by every so often, I've always had the forums linked to the CA section, I just never dropped by, you'll be able to tell if/when I'm getting a CA 'cause I'll show up more often,

Xero, you're always welcom man. More the merrier I always say!

Dee, I know man, I know. I'm far enough into it I'm contemplating just finishing the bottom end with the new piston's I want, but I don't know that I'm ready to drop $600 for custom pistons. Grrrr....
