Okay, long story short, put RB into my s13, took months, didnt really know what i was doing. Car was awesome. One month later, stolen out of my driveway. 2 weeks later, car recovered.

I havent got my settlement yet, but I can buy my car back from my Insurance company for 500 bucks, canadian. s13 body is still okay, I have spare fenders still so I can replace the driverside (the idiots ripped the intercooler out of the front fender) but left my brakes, suspension, motor, turbo, transmission.

I would need to rebuild the head, I'd like to go with some different cams, lighter valves, new springs etc, and then do the head gasket (leak down showed a couple leaky intake valves, but only normal slippage through the rings).

Could someone help me get a decent list of parts im gonna need. I dont really know where else to go but I cant let my car go if I can buy it back for 500 bucks, and still get a decent settlement.

Carl H, what did you use for vavle seals and gides on your 20? only thing i've been able to find is tomei and similar brands but they are 4xx, unfortunately nobody mentioned this on that 5 page rb parts post.

I went with the Tomei guides. I got tired of trying to find them and ordered them through a local shop. For the most part I have found even a stock rebuild on the 20 is going to set you back in the $1000 range. That is if you want to do it correctly... If you want to cut corners then you could get by with a $600 rebuild...

This is just for the rebuild. This doesn't include pistons, rods, and so on. This is for the bearings, gaskets, pumps, machine work, and other various parts. I am building mine up right now. I am using Mahle Pistons, Pauter rods, Z32 upgraded valve springs/lifters, and HKS cams. This motor is going to see a good amount of power so I am trying to do it right. My build is going to run a little more than most rebuilds I would think. If you use stock refurbished rods and pistons that will cut a lot of money out of the equation. Same goes for the head also, but I would rather start with a compeletly fresh motor than a so-so motor...

IS this a 20 your building with Puter rods? I thought they only made them for the 26? unless your doing a RB24? then never mind.
